The 2026 Taupō Supercars race weekend was one for the history books combining high-pressure racing, hometown pride, and standout performances across the board. On a circuit that demands absolute precision, Walkinshaw TWG Racing rose to the occasion, delivering results that showcased preparation, pace, and execution at the highest level.
Strong Pace from the First Laps
Momentum was clear from the opening sessions at Taupō Motorsport Park. Ryan Wood set the benchmark early, taking a practice win and immediately stamping his authority on home soil. As the weekend unfolded, that pace translated into race-winning form, culminating in an unforgettable victory in Race 9, a special moment for Kiwi motorsport and a defining result for the weekend.
Chaz Mostert was right in the mix throughout, combining experience and consistency to secure a third-place finish, adding another well-earned podium for Walkinshaw TWG Racing and reinforcing the team’s strength across both sides of the garage.
Chemical Guys on the Ground at Taupō
Beyond the on-track action, Chemical Guys was proud to be part of the weekend in person. Scott, Rolf, and Janelle were on the ground at Taupō, embedded in the race weekend and spending valuable one-on-one time with Ryan and the Walkinshaw TWG Racing team. With some behind-the-scenes access throughout the event, it was an opportunity to get closer to the process, the people, and the relentless attention to detail required to perform at this level.
Performance Is Built on Preparation
Taupō Motorsport Park proved once again why it’s one of the most demanding circuits on the calendar. Tight margins, heavy braking zones, and long-run consistency tested every element of the operation — on track and in the garage. It was a timely reminder that success isn’t just about race day, but the preparation that comes long before the lights go out.
As proud partners of Walkinshaw TWG Racing, Chemical Guys shares that same mindset: performance through preparation, cleanliness through precision, and pride in every detail.
Looking Ahead
From a practice win to a home-soil race victory and a hard-fought podium, the Taupō Supercars weekend delivered in every sense. Ryan Wood. Chaz Mostert. Walkinshaw TWG Racing. We’re proud to be part of the journey — and excited for what’s still to come as the season rolls on.
